Baltimore, Md. - Camden Partners Holdings, LLC, a private equity firm headquartered in Baltimore, today announced its role in taking Concorde Career Colleges Inc. private.
The Kansas-based vocational school operator recently announced that it has become a privately held corporation and is now wholly owned by private equity firm Liberty Higher Education LLP, an affiliate of Liberty Partners, a private equity firm in New York City.
Serving as lead partner for the transaction was David L. Warnock, partner and co-founder of Camden Partners, who sourced the investment and was involved as a director from the initial investment through the sale. A member of Concorde's board of directors, Warnock worked closely with CEO Jack L. Brozman in growing the business. Both were instrumental in broadening Concorde's career offerings, including the addition and eventual expansion of Concorde's acclaimed nursing curriculum.
Warnock focuses on investments in the education sector, as well as in business and financial services. He also serves on the boards of Environmental Safeguards, Inc., Touchstone Applied Science Associates, Inc., Blue Rhino Corporation and Nobel Learning Communities, Inc., all of which are Camden Partners' portfolio companies.
In addition to its investment in Concorde, Camden Partners has significant investments in K-12 schools, post-secondary colleges, testing and assessment and IT training segments of education.
Headquartered in Mission, Kansas, Concorde Career Colleges, Inc. owns and operates proprietary, postsecondary institutions at 12 locations in seven states that offer career vocational training programs in the allied health field.
