Camden Small Cap Strategy
We believe that great returns come from the proper application of long-term expertise in exploiting inefficiencies in the marketplace. That's why we focus our research and analysis on small and micro-cap stocks, finding opportunities that often go unnoticed by larger money managers.

By combining our long-term growth strategies with our unique shorting analysis, we position ourselves to take advantage of a wide range of market opportunities.

Our extensive experience and involvement with small and micro-cap companies gives us unique insights into the management of a growing public company, insights which allow us to generate impressive returns. Additionally, because we specialize in private equity and venture capital, we have been able to develop deep expertise in specific industries and into the private competitors of our public companies. We are able to use the knowledge developed from our research and our general partners' involvement with our portfolio companies to understand industry trends and private market valuation. For example, our general partners have served on the boards of more than 40 public and private companies. Their experience helps set us ahead of the pack.

As a result, we're able to develop investment strategies that focus on producing long-term gains rather than short-term trading profits. While many hedge funds focus on short term trading, over 80% of our realized gains historically have come from our long-term investments.

That means greater consistency and protection of capital for our clients as well as the ability to weather the storms of investment fads and market trends. Instead of following the herd, we look for companies undergoing change. We focus on growth and then winnow down the list to look for firms that are trading at reasonable valuations and have clean and stable balance sheets.

We use a similar approach with the companies we short, looking beyond the group-think of the marketplace. We select companies with specific characteristics that make them attractive shorting targets, including declining growth rates, high insider sales volumes, secondary offerings, and cyclical headwinds.
