Christopher W. Kersey, Managing Member

Chris is a Partner and joined Camden Partners in 2008.  Chris has over 14 years of investing, operating and clinical experience in the health care and life science industries.  Prior to joining Camden Partners, he served as a Managing Director of Cogene Ventures, at the time the largest health care and life science late-stage venture capital fund in the Southern United States.  Chris began his career as an Associate at the venerable Menlo Ventures where he focused on health care and life science investments.

Dr. Kersey currently serves on the board of directors of LipoScience Inc. and Pet DRx Corporation (NASDAQ: VETS), and he is a board observer of AtriCure Corporation (NASDAQ: ATRC) and Picis Inc.  Dr. Kersey’s previous portfolio companies include MedServe Inc. (acquired by Stericycle Corporation, NASDAQ: SRCL), ComView Medical Systems (acquired by Evolved Digital Systems, TSX: EVD), Targacept Inc. (NASDAQ: TRGT), AlgoRx Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: ANSV), Rejuvenon Corporation (acquired by Helsinn Healthcare S.A.), Xeotron Corporation (acquired by Life Technologies Corporation, NASDAQ: LIFE) and MacroGenics Inc.

Chris gained operational experience as the Chief Business Development Officer and Chief Medical Officer of RediClinic LLC, one of the nation's largest independent operators of retail-based medical clinics.  His clinical research background includes fellowships at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Emory University School of Medicine, where he focused on molecular biology and cardiovascular surgery, respectively.

Dr. Kersey has served in a variety of community, civic and professional organizations throughout his career, including as President of the Houston Private Equity Association and Foundation Board Director of the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit health care systems.

Chris received his B.A. degree from Stanford University, his M.B.A. degree from the Harvard Business School and his M.D. degree from the Emory University School of Medicine.
