Richard is a Senior Partner and joined Camden Partners in 2002. Prior to joining Camden, he spent 19 years with Alex. Brown & Sons, Incorporated and its successor organizations, Bankers Trust Corporation and Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc. Richard focuses on investments in the business and financial services, health care and education markets for the firm.

Previously, Richard was Managing Director and Global Head of the Equity Private Placements Group at Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc., where he was responsible for the origination, structuring, and consummation of private equity financings for private and public companies. During his tenure, Richard and his team members completed more than 135 private equity financings for private and public companies.

Following graduate school, he practiced law at Dell, Craighill, Fentress & Benton between 1980 and 1983.  He also served as an officer in the United States Air Force between 1974 and 1976.  Richard is a former member of the Board of Managers of the University of Virginia Alumni Association, and a former President and former member of the Board of Directors of the Jefferson Scholars Foundation at the University of Virginia.

He has served, or is currently serving, on the Boards of Directors of a number of public and private companies – including RealPage, Inc., WageWorks, Inc., HemCon Medical Technologies, Inc., TradeBeam Holdings, Inc., IncentOne, Inc., and Barton-Cotton, Inc. – educational institutions, and charitable organizations.

Rachael joined Camden Partners in 2007 as Administrative Assistant and supports Dick Johnston. Rachael graduated from Notre Dame of Maryland University with a B.S. degree in Psychology. Currently, Rachael is attending University of Baltimore and anticipates graduating with her Masters in Industrial Organizational Psychology.

Don joined Camden Partners in 1997 and is a Senior Partner and the Chief Financial Officer. He has over 20 years of experience working with and advising small public and private companies. Don serves as a resource to portfolio companies in the areas of accounting, financial reporting, information systems and recruiting, among others. He serves or has served on the boards of Occupational Health + Rehabilitation Inc., Questar Assessment, Inc., AgilQuest, Inc., New Horizons Worldwide, Inc., Biomedical Enterprises, Inc and MinSec Holdings, Inc. all of which are Camden Partners’ portfolio companies.

Previously, Don served as Chief Financial Officer of Capstone Pharmacy Services, Inc., a public, small-cap institutional pharmacy services provider. He also spent 12 years as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Broventure Company, Inc., a closely-held investment company and family office, and 11 years in the audit division of Arthur Andersen LLP. Don has also previously served on the boards of several public and private growth companies as well as several not-for-profit groups.

Don earned a B.A. degree from Lycoming College, an M.S.F. degree from Loyola University Maryland and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Meghan joined Camden Partners in 2006 and is an Associate on the Private Equity Team with a focus on Education and Business Services. She received her B.S. in Family Studies from the University of Maryland and currently is pursuing her M.B.A. at the Robert H. Smith School of Business with a concentration in Finance and Strategy.

Ian joined Camden Partners Holdings, LLC in April of 2012 as an analyst on the private equity team. Prior to joining Camden Partners, Ian worked as an analyst for Tobin & Company an investment banking firm located in Charlotte, North Carolina.

He focuses on the technology-enabled business services sector, particularly software-as-a-service and transaction-processing companies.

Ian earned his Masters in Finance from the R.H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and holds a B.A. in Criminology with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Maryland.

David is a Senior Partner with Camden Partners and co-founded the firm in 1995. He has over 24 years of investment experience and focuses on investments in the business and financial services and education sectors. He serves on the board of National American University, Inc., New Horizons Worldwide, Inc., Nobel Learning Communities, Inc., The Princeton Review, Inc., Primo Water Corporation, Questar Assessment, Inc., Towne Park Ltd., Ranir LLC, CIBT School of Business and Technology Corp., Santa Rosa Consulting, Inc. and formerly served on the board of American Public Education, Inc., all of which are Camden Partners’ portfolio companies.

Previously, David was President of T. Rowe Price Strategic Partners and T. Rowe Price Strategic Partners II. He was also co-manager of the T. Rowe Price New Horizons Fund. David was employed by T. Rowe Price Associates from 1983 to 1995. Upon forming Camden Partners (formerly known as Cahill, Warnock & Company) and until December 31, 1997, David served as a consultant to the advisory committees of T. Rowe Price Strategic Partners and T. Rowe Price Strategic Partners II. David started his career at Welch and Forbes, Boston-based private trustees.

David is also involved with numerous non-profit organizations. He is the Chairman of the Center For Urban Families, as well as former Chairman of the Board for Calvert Education Services, the nation’s largest non-sectarian homeschooling organization.  He is Founder and Trustee of the Green Street Academy in Baltimore City. He also serves on the board of the University of Wisconsin Applied Security Analysis Program and is a trustee on the board of the Baltimore Museum of Art & the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum.

David earned a B.A. degree from the University of Delaware and a M.S. (in Finance) from the University of Wisconsin. David is also a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder.
